"Florida"
means beaches and we have some of the most beautiful beaches anywhere in
the world. Many have worked to assure access to the Atlantic Ocean.
Martin and Saint
Lucie County's natural resources really begin at its coastline. You will
enjoy nature with a walk on the beach, hunting for shells during a day
of "fun in the sun," taking advantage of the waves, windsurfing at a
local causeway or watching for large, lumbering sea turtles crawling
ashore to lay their eggs in the sand.
The county's beaches include individual access areas along A1A on
Hutchinson Island that allow for more private spots to enjoy the surf
and sand or larger, guard-protected areas like Stuart Beach, Hobe Sound
Beach and of course Jensen Beach.
Bathtub Beach is a very
special due to a natural reef that creates a barrier and a wading
pool adjacent to the beach. On a sunny day you wade for hours in
water as warm as bath.
